Blue Lights from AZURE

Blue Lights from AZURE

By chance I found the photo (see below) on the Internet, and I liked it immediately. In a way, it's a modern version of Casper David Friedrich's paintings, but it's from contemporary photography. The subject is triggered by the Auroral Zone Upwelling Rocket Experiment (AZURE) (s.https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/2018/sounding-rocket-mission-will-trace-auroral-winds). The location for the photograph is in the north of Norway. Last but not least I like very much the lights of the city, which seem to compete with the gaslight tracks.

I suppose Otto Piene would have been the first to try to arrange the light experiments as visual works of art.
